The Spiderwick Chronicles on DVD

My oldest daughter (almost 6 years old) has wanted to see The Spiderwick Chronicles ever since she saw a trailer in the theater over a year ago.  Back then, she was kind of apprehensive about seeing it..wanted to, but was too scared.  You know, typical 6 year old girl waffling.  When I was contacted about reviewing this movie for Pink, I jumped at the chance.

Miss P loved it.  I guess she thought there would be some spiders in the film, ’cause she kept asking where they were.  Plenty of troll-y type goblin creatures, and a few flower fairies (which are so adorable!), but not the arachniphobia flick as the title suggests (to a 6 year old, at least.  I knew that there were no spiders.).

The Spiderwick Chronicles is fine for the 6 year old child to watch with a parent, since it is PG rated.  There are a few scary scenes, but Miss P didn’t have Spiderwick-y nightmares, nor did she develop any new fears or phobias from the flick, so it’s all good.
